What a great day we had on Friday with over 90 people in attendance at our Luncheon to listen to some inspirational speakers!
First up, a huge thank you to Matt Campbell (NBL Wollongong Hawks great) for a late call up as Ian "Basil" Millward (Illawarra Cutters coach) was unavailable due to his call up as Assistant Coach for the St George-Illawarra Dragons.
Then a complete change of normal sporting identity speaking, with our special guest "Buzz" from Western Australia giving an insight into his work life!! Great to see a standing ovation from a very respectful audience after Buzz spoke.
This led to Shannon Eckstein, 8 x Kelloggs Nutri-Grain ironman champion, current World & Australian Iron-Man Champion giving us a rundown on his achievements and thoughts on surf sports within surf lifesaving!
Great questions and comments to all of our guests from our MC for the day being Freshwater SLS clubbie, Kurt Hanson from Hanson Media. Thank you to all that purchased raffle tickets and auction items (supplied by Paul at Wicked Memorabilia). A very successful day!
