Sportsman's Luncheon - Shannon Eckstein headline speaker

Bulli Surf Life Saving Club is one of the leading clubs in the Illawarra/South Coast region. This Friday 30 May the club will be holding a Sportsman’s Luncheon at Bulli Workers Club to help raise much needed dollars to go towards proposed extensions to their out of dated surf club. The surf club was built by its members in the 1960’s and has survived the test in harsh conditions for over 50 years, but now is the time to do some renovations and extensions.

Because of the success of the club in all areas including lifesaving, education, surf sports and member development their membership base has continued to rise hitting 680 this past season, an increase from 2008 of a staggering 82%.

The Sportsman’s Luncheon has attracted a star studded line-up with Kurt Hanson (Hanson Media Group), a Freshwater surf club member as MC. Current World & Australian Iron-Man champion Shannon Eckstein will head line the guest list with the Illawarra Cutters Rugby League Coach Ian ‘Basil’ Millward to share his thoughts about rugby league, a surprise guest from the Special Air Forces (SAS) Regiment from Western Australia will also be in attendance and to add his touch of humour on the day will be the one and only ‘Dasher’.

Tickets are $100 which includes 2 course meal 4 hour drink package and entertainment. Activities start at 1pm and conclude at 5pm with Live Auction Sporting memorabilia items going under the hammer, large raffle and silent auction items to help raise funds.

Club President Keith Caldwell said, “This is one of our big fundraisers that happens every two years. It is always an enjoyable day and I would sincerely like to thank our sponsors, supporters and club members who have donated items for the day.”
