Club President Keith Caldwell said, “This is a great result for our hard working members who put in so much volunteer work through-out the season. Leadership is one of our great strengths with 4 members of the Executive Committee actually Life Members of the club (Keith Caldwell, Barry Adams, Garry Horne & Paul Hennessy). People believe we are a surf sports club only and yes it is an important asset for our club. But the real important message is that surf life saving club's major priority is making the beaches safe for the community. As a member you need to gain life saving awards and patrol the beach before you can get to a carnival to compete. We have a great deal of experience in all areas in surf life saving, this alone brings confidence to the members and a greater participation in activities within the club. We try to make sure that our members have access to the best education services, lifesaving equipment and training, surf sports programs, plus members are given an opportunity to succeed in any club activity. With that comes our club acknowledgement’s of any achievement by members resulting in 11 awards for our club on the night.”
