R.I.P Life Member Raymond Meredith
It is with a heavy heart that we inform you Ray Meredith (80 years of age), Life Member of Bulli Surf Life Saving Club Inc.has sadly passed away last Friday night (13 December).
Ray obtained his Bronze in 56/57. Ray competed in the boat section of the club winning Illawarra Open & Reserve Grade titles. As Boat Captain in the mid to late seventies Ray led the revival of Bulli as a force nation wide. Ray held positions of Chief First Aid Officer, Club delegate to Illawarra meetings, Assistant Secretary, Boat Captain & Deputy President.
Life Membership was awarded to Ray in the 1982/1983 season.
School teacher, discipline was his thing, funny bugger telling stories, could entertain a crowd with a few untruths. Ray had a rich history with the George Bass Surf Boat Marathon, was living in Eden with his lovely wife Jo. We are all certain that Ray is in a better place now, he was battling a few illnesses in recent times.
Ray's funeral will be held at the Eden Catholic Church on this Friday 20th December at 10am followed by a cremation service and wake/celebration of Ray's life at the Eden Bowling Club.
