BULLI MEMBERS - Covid-19 update of our premises

Dear Community & Members,

Our Board of Directors have been monitoring the situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) & the possible impact on our members & activities at our surf club.

By now you would have seen the large number of postponements and cancellations that have been announced in response to the global pandemic of COVID-19.

In order to ensure the safety of members and the general community during these challenging times, and being guided by our governing bodies, BULLI SLSC has unfortunately had to enact the following measures as from today until 1 May as Australian Government has just announced.

We will continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis & endeavour to keep our members up to speed with the situation & any changes that may alter our decisions. This is a changing & challenging environment with varying measures happening on a daily basis.

• Our Junior Activities (Nippers) had already finished for the season & presentation completed

• No club surf sports training will take place.

• Any upcoming club education courses have been postponed.

• No club activities to take place prior to the end of season.

• Club gym will be closed until further notice. Our Director of Administration has been sending out text members to gym users that access will be denied as of now.

• Our club function room will be closed for all functions until further notice. Functions already booked will receive full refunds.

• End of season debrief functions are on hold for Life Saving & Surf Sports sections.

• Annual Presentation Awards Night date to be looked at & will advise.

• Members please limit your time attending our surf club premises for non essential lifesaving activities.

• Our lifesaving patrols will continue for the present time (patrols finish on 26 April) however patrols have been advised to enact social distancing measures to reduce the likelihood of viral transmission.

• In consultation with our DOL Markus Meier-Lindner, Patrol Captains may choose to scale down the number of patrolling members to reduce the risk of exposure to members, so long as we can meet the minimum patrol numbers as per our Lifesaving Service Agreement and SOP LS3.2 Lifesaving Service Requirements. Our members should liaise with their Patrol Captains if they are unable to attend their patrols when rostered.

• Patrol Captains have been advised of the SLS operational procedures for dealing with suspected cases of coronavirus in a separate email from SLSNSW.

• All members are reminded to practice regular handwashing with soap and water.

• Reminder for all members if you are feeling unwell, have a dry cough, have a high temperature or showing signs of flu like symptoms PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THE SURF CLUB.

Our Board of Directors are focussed on making our club environment safe for our members & the community. These measures above we believe are in the best interests of our members, Bulli Surf Life Saving Club & the community.

We thank you for your understanding during this difficult time and encourage you to remain connected to the club via our online channels (Facebook, email, our webpage and Instagram).

In the meantime, stay safe.

Regards
Keith Caldwell
