Surf Life Saving NSW Life Member - Keith Caldwell
It is a great pleasure to announce that Keith Caldwell our President was last week announced as a Life Member of Surf Life Saving New South Wales at the 2015 SLSNSW AGM.
For almost four decades, the name Keith Caldwell has been synonymous with the Bulli Surf Life Saving Club, and now his efforts at a club, branch, state, and national level have been recognised with his elevation to Life Member of Surf Life Saving NSW.
Keith’s journey began in 1976 when he joined the club as a cadet lifesaver. A multi-talented surf sport’s competitor, Keith earned medals at a branch, state and national level in a variety of disciplines both on the beach and in the water.
With his competition days over and his passion for surf sports still burning, he turned to coaching and team mangement to stay in the game. A man generous with his time, there are hundreds of lifesavers around Australia who have benefited from his guidance and experience over the years.
Keith has been involved with Illawarra Branch, NSW and Australian representative teams and was Australian Open Team Manager at the 2012 and 2014 World Lifesaving Championships.
Aside from his involvement in surf sports, his dedication to his club is something to be admired and he has juggled many administrative roles over the years, always ready to help out and serve his beloved club in whatever way he can.
After a two-year stint as Deputy President, Keith took over the reigns as club President in 2005, a position he still holds. It’s fair to say that the last decade has been very successful for Bulli SLSC with the club achieving wide spread acclaim for their best practice administration.
Some of the accolades achieved by the club under Keith’s stewardship include Illawarra Champion Surf Sports Club (2006-14), Club of the Year (2005, 2007, 2010, 2011 & 2015), and a finalist for the SLSNSW Club of the Year in 2007.
Keith is a Life Member of Bulli Surf Life Saving Club & Surf Life Saving Illawarra.
For his dedication to the Surf Life Saving movement at a club, branch, state and national level over many years, Keith Caldwell is a deserving recipient of SLSNSW Life Membership.
