Construction Certificate Plans approved for extensions
Exciting news with Wollongong City Council today finally approving our Construction Certificate Plans for our proposed two storey extension on the southern side of the surf club.
Lower level for storage of club & council lifesaving equipment and the upper level having disabled access (lift), secretary's office, kitchen, tiolets and a club room (100 seating) for our activities including education courses, club events & functions.
Now the next stage of the development is the tender process for prospective company's to be the preferred licenced builder decided by council. This normally takes a couple of months, so we believe the actual project more than likely to start April/May 2016.
Club President Keith Caldwell said, " Received the phone call from Wollongong Council today letting us know that the plans have finally been approved. This is the best feeling as now it becomes a reality for all our members to actual see the vision that we have been waiting for over 5 years of hard work by our Executive & Building Committee meeting all the necassary regulations, plans, specialists reports required by council to get to this stage. There is still a lot of work to go but now our confidence is sky high, we can't wait to see the finished produce."
