State Championships this weekend
Good luck to all of our surf sports athletes this weekend at the 2014 NSW Open Surf Life Saving Championships at Umina/Ocean Beach.
Hope the weather & surf is kind to everybody.
Looking forward to some great results from our Boat Section with the Men's A & U19 Men's crews leading the way, both are flying at the moment and come into the championships in great form. Good performances are also expected from our U23 Men plus Open & U23 Women's crews. Unfortunately our 220yrs Masters Men's crew had to withdraw due to an injury.
Look out for Hannah Minogue leading the charge for the surf/craft competitors over the 3 days with strong medal chances expected in all disciplines for her. Beau Wheeler & Mitchell Fagerstrom will lead the way in the Open guys with a strong band of U19 & U17 guys looking for some strong performances (Lachlan O'Grady, Joshua Bond, Calvin Richards, Tobias Lunney, Brad Nees, Daniel St George). Our U17 girls & U15 girls could be the dark horses over the weekend with a bit of luck. Kiah Taylor, Emma Brown, Abbey Dawson, Mali Taylor, Bryar Lunney & Denver Richards will be flying the flag for the club.
We have two beach athlete's this weekend with Bernadette Cardillo (Open Female) and one of our Masters guys Nathan Cattell having a run in the 2km beach run in readiness for next week's masters events.
