100 year celebrations

Well our 100 year celebrations went off sensationally over the weekend of 12/13/14 October.

Friday night "Meet & Greet" drinks at Bulli Workers Club with over 150 former & current members re-living the glory days of our great club.

Saturday Lunch was our "Official Lucheon" with close to 250 people in attendance to celebrate our history. With speeches kept to a minimum, it was a great chance for all to mingle & mix with former & current members in a great relaxed social atmosphere at Panorama House Bulli Tops. What a great location looking over the northern suburbs of Illawarra, in particular Bulli Surf Life Saving Club & our beach.

Saturday night Bulli Workers Club had the 'house full' sign up with people partying well into the evening.

Sunday down at the beach & a recovery BBQ was on the agenda and some of our rookie lifesavers (U13-U17) put on a demonstration of old events such as chariot race, wheelbarrow race & round the pole race to entertain the crowd.

This club has had so many passionate people in their respective eras who have shed some blood sweat & tears, not only management committee members, but patrolling & surf sports members.

Heaps of memories, heaps of photos & memorabilia on display.

Members over the 100 years have been acknowledged & recognised with meritorious & bravery awards in lifesaving & rescue situations, granted life membership, won branch, state & national awards for education, lifesaving, member development, administration & surf sports achievements, won medals (now known as surf sports) at branch, state, national & on the world stage.
